3 REASONS YOUR CIRCLE IS HOLDING YOU BACK AND WHAT YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT NOW
“The first step, before anybody else in the world believes it, is that you have to believe it!”
- WILL SMITH (AMERICAN ACTOR)

I do not know you.
I do not know what you look like, what your name is or what you are doing right now.
But the fact that you are reading this tells me one thing:
You want more. You are not satisfied with what you have. You want to get better. Bigger. Faster. Smarter. There is only one direction for you and it goes forward.
In the text below we will go through 3 reasons why the people around you might be holding you down, and what you can do about it.
Reason 1: Fear
You know the lines:
“Have you really thought this through?”
“Do you have any idea how much can go wrong?!”
“That is quite a risk, though…”
“A friend of someone I know tried that too and it did not work out.”
The truth is: most people go through their day AFRAID.
Afraid of exposing themselves. Afraid of doing something wrong.
The way Germany deals with failure means that a man who goes for something great and fails always ends up looking worse than the man who never tried at all.
But the pros know: only failure teaches you anything, and that is what gets you to success in the end. Strictly speaking, there is almost no such thing as a mistake.
There are only “lessons”, and you draw your conclusions from them to do it better next time.
Reason 2: Their Own Failure
If you set yourself high goals, you become a bit of a threat to the (wrong) people around you.
Maybe your friends, family members or acquaintances once had high goals of their own that they never reached.
By working hard for YOUR goals, you remind them that they gave up THEIR OWN goals a long time ago. Because of you they now have to ask themselves whether that was the right call.
But instead of feeding off your motivation and setting themselves new high goals, for many it is easier and more comfortable to simply talk you and your ambitions down.
Reason 3: Fear of Losing You
The last reason comes up least often, but it deserves a mention too.
You have set yourself an incredibly high goal, and you are going to reach it.
For the people around you, that raises a question: What happens to your friends? Where will you stand with your family? Will you even have time for them anymore?
Maybe they are simply worried that you will change completely and turn your back on close friends or even family once you are really successful.
What You Can Do About It
1. Change the People Around You: “You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with.” You have heard that one before. And it holds: if a man surrounds himself with losers, their traits rub off on him sooner or later.
Cut ties with people who do not support you or who actively hold you down.
2. Smile & Wave: This works especially well with family, the people you may not be able or willing to remove from your life.
Take the “good advice” from the “experienced person”, say “Thanks, I will keep that in mind” – and then carry on exactly as before.
3. Serious Self-Confidence: As pretty much everywhere else, you and your goals have the best “chance of survival” when you are genuinely self-confident and trust your own cause. Nobody can talk you out of what you are after, however crazy it may sound to other people.
REAL self-confidence also helps you work out which well-meant advice is worth taking, because there are of course people who do support you.

Good luck out there!
